In the 2021 Italian Super Cup match yesterday morning, Inter Milan defeated Juventus with a score of 2-1 after 120 minutes of play. Notably, the decisive goal of the match was scored in injury time in the second period of extra time. The person who brought joy to the “Nerazzurri” was Alexis Sanchez.
Bonucci did not start in this match. However, at the end of the second extra time, coach Allegri called on the Juventus player to make a mistake to stop the match, in order to send the Italian player on to the field to take a penalty shootout. However, when Bonucci had not yet entered the field, Sanchez scored the “golden goal” for Inter.
Seeing Inter Milan’s secretary Cristiano Mozzillo appear on the pitch and celebrate in a frenzied and provocative manner, Bonucci was enraged. According to a number of Italian newspapers, Mozzillo had previously “provocative” words to Bonucci, mocking the fact that he had no chance to save Juventus.
In a short scene that appeared on TV, Bonucci approached and physically assaulted Mozzillo, while the character on Mozzillo’s side appeared frantic and made a relatively weak protest. Il Tempo newspaper quoted Bonucci as telling Mozzillo: “Don’t celebrate in front of me. What the hell did he do? Do you want to die?”
And in the video, which was filmed by a fan and posted on social media later, Bonucci, after being stopped by security staff, was still extremely bitter towards Mozzillo, repeatedly pointing at the secretary with the hard words.
According to the latest information from Corriere dello Sport, Bonucci was lucky to escape a suspension for this action. The Juventus star was only fined 10,000 euros for being the first in this situation. In addition, the Inter side was also fined 5,000 euros for “letting a character not on the list of coaching staff present in the opponent’s direction”.
