Past vs Present: Pjanic vs Aouar

Round 27 of Ligue 1 witnessed a great shock when Paris Saint-Germain received the 2nd defeat in the last 3 appearances in the French No. 1 arena. This time, they were defeated by Nice with a score of 0-1. 

In addition to the aforementioned highlight, another impressive performance last week was Lyon’s 4-1 victory over Lorient at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir.  

The 3 most sublime players on the “Lion of the Rhones” side include 2 midfielders, Romain Faivre, Houssem Aouar and striker Moussa Dembele. Accordingly, Faivre scored a brace, Aouar had an assist while Dembele contributed a goal and once assisted a teammate to score. 

Aouar was once interested by Arsenal.  

With Aouar, he was once considered a transfer target of Arsenal but in the end, the deal failed and the Gunners decided to recruit Martin Odegaard instead of the French attacking midfielder. 

As for Dembele, he had a period of testing himself at Atletico Madrid but failed and was forced to return to Lyon to look for opportunities to revive his career.
