The star on the payroll of Barcelona really makes opponents in the Premier League afraid.
Francisco Minncao joined Barcelona as a promising young star in August 2020. The adult player from Sporting Braga arrived at Camp Nou for 31 million euros. In a short period of time, Trincao got 3 goals and 2 assists in 1,309 minutes under coach Ronald Koeman.
However, in order to have the opportunity to play more often, Trincao decided to leave the Catalan club last summer. Accordingly, the winger’s forte moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan.
So far, in 991 minutes of playing for Wolves – equivalent to 18 matches, Trincao has only had one goal. That was in a 4-0 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest. Obviously, it was a performance that didn’t really live up to expectations .
“Sometimes he needs to understand the game better,” manager Bruno Lage said in December. “As a player coming from abroad, you have to adapt to the style of football in the Premier League.”
However, in terms of personal techniques, Trincao really is second to none. And the 22-year-old star is an expert at “piercing” opponents in the Premier League this season.
No one in the UK, nor in Europe’s top 5 leagues, has a higher rate of “groin piercing” than Trincao per game. Specifically, according to Marca, Trincao does an average of 0.96 “needle threads” every 90 minutes. Or to put it another way, Trincao has completed 10 “groin piercings” since the beginning of the season.
Players in Europe’s top 5 leagues have the most groin piercings per 90 minutes:
Trincao (Wolves): 10 times. Every 90 minutes: 0.96 times.
Emmanuel Dennis (Watford): 12 times. Every 90 minutes: 0.78 times.
Moussa Diaby (Bayer Leverkusen): 11 times. Every 90 minutes: 0.69 times.
Gianluca Caprari (Hellas Verona): 11 times. Every 90 minutes: 0.67 times.
Kevin Mbabu (Wolfsburg): 7 times. Every 90 minutes: 0.65 times.
Patrick Wimmer (Arminia): 7 times. Every 90 minutes: 0.65 times.

Trincao needs to contribute more in terms of gameplay.
In terms of actual numbers, only Dennis (12) of Watford, Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen (11) and Caprari of Hellas Verona (11) have more successful totals than Trincao.
Not stopping here, Trincao is also in the Top 20 players with the most dribbles in the Premier League. Trincao has 28 successful dribbles after 51 attempts, reaching a rate of 43.08%. He ranked in 17th place, level with Nelson Semedo.
However, Trincao needs to show more efficiency in terms of contributing to the team’s overall play. Only then will the opportunity to return and kick the ball for Barcelona really become bright.
