Villanova, Pa.- Villanova men’s lacrosse head coach Mike Corrado and his staff have announced the addition for four graduate transfers to the men’s lacrosse team for the 2021-22 academic year..
“We are excited to welcome our four graduate transfers for this academic year,” shared head coach Mike Corrado. “They are a great addition to our team, and we are looking forward to having them contribute in the spring.”
The four graduate transfers are J.P. Basile (Duke), Brett Baskin (John’s Hopkins), Chris Hervada (Monmouth), and Luke Keating (Franklin & Marshall).
Basile appeared in 19 career games at Duke and recorded 10 goals and dished out 17 assists for 27 points. During his senior season Basile appeared in eight games at attack and netted five goals and dished out three assists for eight points. In 2020 he led the team with 14 assists through just six games, this was fourth best in the ACC.
Baskin appeared in 46 games at midfield at John’s Hopkins while making six starts. He totaled 30 goals and seven assists for 37 points. During his senior season he played in all 13 games and made three starts. Baskin netted seven goals and two assists for nine points and added six ground balls and caused a turnover.
Hervada at Monmouth played in and started in 44 games on defense and led the Hawks to a 2021 MAAC Tournament title. He collected 121 ground balls and caused 49 turnovers, which ranks him top three in both categories at Monmouth. In 2021 he was named MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team honors, he also earned a spot on the First Team in 2019.
Keating at Franklin & Marshall started in 47 games at attack and was named a USILA First Team All-American in 2021 and earned Honorable Mention in 2018. He netted 143 goal and dished out 106 assists for 249 points in his four years as a Diplomat. In 2019 Keating finished with 100 points on the season scoring 58 goals and dishing out 42 assists, this was the second most in a single season at Franklin & Marshall.
