Raphael Varane picked up an injury as he began his new life at Manchester United and an unhappy dressing room has certainly hindered the centre-back’s adaptation.
It is clear that the individual French player cannot be satisfied with his own performance, since arriving at Old Trafford for £ 34 million (according to BBC Sport).

Varane is not at his best yet.
After returning from injury, Varane faced off against the best dribblers in the league, Adama Traore and Allan Saint-Maximin.
The former Real Madrid player seems hesitant about players full of speed. The style of football in La Liga is very different, which is much slower than in the Premier League and is more focused on technical quality.
That’s why Varane misjudged and led to Man Utd’s goal against Newcastle United. The 28-year-old player has not yet shown his inherent value and class.
In Spain, Varane forged a good relationship with Sergio Ramos – an active and enthusiastic player, and a positive influence in the Madrid dressing room.
But at Man Utd, Varane doesn’t have that luxury. Captain Harry Maguire has not been able to reproduce his form at EURO 2020 and often makes mistakes.

Varane needs to replace Maguire to dominate the Red Devils dressing room.
Unlike Ramos, Maguire cannot have a big influence in the dressing room. And that’s when Varane needed to step out to lead the way.
Rangnick desperately needed Varane to lead the team from behind to impose his play on the opposition and at the same time calm the troubled dressing room.
At Madrid, Varane is supported by a talented trio of midfielders including Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. With Man Utd, Varane has almost no idea how to defend or attack when in front of him is a vast void.
However, that’s when Varane had to show his bravery. Along with the likes of David de Gea, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo, Varane is an experienced superstar who can pull the team out of the quagmire.
But first, Varane must regain his best form and feeling of playing. Just like that, Varane can be a positive factor to push teammates forward.
