The 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo still played more than 500 minutes in the Premier League, scoring a single goal in 131.5 minutes. At the same time, Messi scored a goal in just 470.5 minutes in Ligue 1, setting the worst scoring record in the domestic league in the past 15 years. Messi also only converted 5.4% of his shots into goals, while Ronaldo’s figure was 17.1%.
Manchester City give priority to De Jong in summer
After the Champions League defeat, Manchester City hopes to introduce more outstanding rookies to complete the ambition of revenge next season. The Citizens have recently added Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong to this summer’s transfer list, in addition to Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland’s long-term target, according to The Sun. Coach Guardiola is said to have admired De Jong when he was at Ajax, but the Dutch midfielder has since opted to go to Camp Nou.
At present, Manchester United, who are in the same city as them, are also very interested in signing De Jong. At the same time, Barcelona may consider selling due to financial problems. The Catalan giants are said to be hoping to earn at least 70 million euros through the deal.
