Havertown, Pa. – To conclude their fall schedule, the Villanova golf team competed in the City 6 Invitational, against local universities. After the one day event, the Wildcats finished in second place, shooting +12 (296). This is the team’s highest placement since the 2016-17 season, where they also finished 2nd.
Among the six Wildcats competing, Noah Peck finished with the lowest score of even (71), tied for 3rd place. Matthew Copeland tied for 6th, after shooting +2 (73). Luke Alexander also placed inside the top-10, finishing tied for 10th at +4 (75). Peter Weaver’s score of +6 (77) placed him tied for 18th. Vimal Alokam shot +8 (79) after 18 holes of action, while Matt Davis rounded out the lineup at +9 (80) on the day.
The 2nd place finish marks the highest of the fall season for Villanova.
The field shook out with Drexel finishing in 1st place shooting +3 (287), Villanova in 2nd, St. Joseph’s in 3rd at +15 (299), Temple in 4th at +16 (300) and La Salle in 5th at +19 (303).
Matthew Werner of La Salle and Angelo Giantsopoulos of Drexel tied for 1st place, after shooting -1 (70) on the day.
