Jonesborough, TN – After their second day at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, the Villanova golf team sits in 15th, with an overall team score of +22 (598). After shooting +2 in the first round yesterday (290), the team shot +20 (308) today.
Through 36 holes, Peter Weaver holds the lowest score for the Wildcats, at +4, after scoring an 8-over-par in round two. Weaver came into the day having shot -4 in his first round, tied for first. Noah Peck sits at 7-over par after two rounds, shooting +6 today. Matthew Copeland had his best round of the tournament today shooting even, which included an eagle on his second to last hole. He sits at +9 heading into the final round. Luke Alexander and Matt Davis sit tied with one another after two days of action, at +10 and a score of 154.
Host #20 ETSU leads the tournament heading into the final round, with a score of -24 (277+275, 552). Defending champion (2019) #40 Louisville is in second at -22 (277+277, 554) and #50 Charlotte sits in third shooting -18 (280+278, 558).
Villanova will tee off at 9:15 AM on Wednesday for the final round of the tournament.
