(international football) – London are planning to recruit midfielder Raheem Sterling to bolster their attack next season.
The Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law says the Chelsea boss is eyeing Manchester City midfielder Raheem Sterling and hopes to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer. Sterling’s current contract with Manchester City runs until June 2023 and has made no secret of his intentions to leave in search of a new challenge.
The English player’s strengths are his technical and harassing abilities. The 1995-born star is expected to bring a new breeze to the Blues’ attack, with Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku or Christian Pulisic in sight disappointment.
According to statistics, after 47 appearances for the Citizens this season, Sterling scored 17 goals and contributed 8 goals. Furthermore, with his experience in the Premier League, the 27-year-old would be quick to adapt should he move to Chelsea.
Chelsea care about Sterling
The current price of sterling has fallen to £60 million – a considerable amount. However, with the England player only one year left on his contract with the Manchester Greens, Chelsea could negotiate a lower price with Manchester City.
If Sterling is successfully recruited, coach Tuchel can be assured of the home team’s attack next season. By then, the Blues are likely to be separated from names like Werner, Pulisic or Hakim Ziyech.
