Arsenal’s board is determined to recruit a central midfielder in the rest of January.
Coach Mikel Arteta confirmed earlier this month that they will increase staff in the midfield. However, recent negotiations with Arthur Melo (Juventus) or Bruno Guimaraes (Lyon) have not been as desired by the Gunners.

Wijnaldum wants to live in London.
The Spanish strategist is racing against time. And in that context, information from midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum could give Arsenal a positive feeling. Specifically, PSG’s rookie has not adapted to life in France and is wanting to return to England. The Telegraph believes that Arsenal have a great advantage in negotiations because the Dutch midfielder wants to live in London.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Wijnaldum is disappointed that he has not played much at PSG and he is used to the feeling of being the mainstay of the team while playing for Liverpool.
Accordingly, Wijnaldum has only played 979 minutes in the domestic league and has to compete with a series of other midfielders such as Marco Veratti, Danilo Pereira, Leandro Parades, Ander Herrera or Idrissa Gueye.
Currently, PSG is not ready to sell players who have only joined the team for 7 months. However, a loan is possible. Previously, Arteta also said that buying people to solve short-term staff shortages is a risky move.
